Coils in the Big Apple

Despite his noisy complaints about the Mueller Russia collusion investigation, Trump should really be fearing the Southern District of New York, SDNY. It seems Mueller is sub-contracting some of his prosecution effort. To other experts in jurisdictions beyond any grip of POTUS.

Trump has constitutional defences against the Federal Mueller investigations, like firing him, but has no ability to prevent SDNY from probing into his business history and the Trump Foundation/Corporation and charity. And this is by law enforcers who have form at bringing down mafia gang bosses and major corporations for illegality. Sometimes their acronym is referred to as the SOVEREIGN District of New York because of the independence of their activities.

With co-operation agreements with executives and chief financial officers who knows how many buried bodies will be disinterred?

There will be tax liability scrutiny too. And examination of family members.

We can expect disturbed sleep in the WH and angry early morning tweets.

Coils of TFA

My favourite most sensible lady in this entire saga is Omarosa, easy on the eye with her gracious style too. She was pushed out of the White House team, which is to her credit. Interviewed by MSNBC she naturally references her account in her book “Unhinged”. In it she tells us she covers much of the same ground  over “Crazytown” in the WH now breaking news in the NYT with its anonymous op-ed from a senior advisor to POTUS. And in Bob Woodhouse’s revelatory new book due out this week. “Fear”

To top it off she has documentary evidence, over a hundred communications, hashtagged with ‘TFA’ this is an acronym for “Twenty Fifth Amendment” and labels items from Trump which so astound WH workers they attach it to the discussion to say this is yet another example of a man so unhinged he should be removed from office. Unfortunately that constitutional backstop means he would be replaced by the VP Mike Pence who is also a bad egg, but sane. It is his office she points to for the identity of this illicit NYT source.

It seems like it is everybody covering their own backs in the WH as the shit hits the fan increasingly.

Kavanagh Koil

It is very worrying that POTUS has found a backstop route to breaking free (the old Monopoly game ploy of a ‘Get-out-of-Jail-Free-Card) by legally rigging the supreme court with the Judge Kavanagh nomination – and rushing to getting him congressional/senate approval to be on that bench before the mid-term elections this autumn.

This young right wing ill-qualified candidate does not stand out from thousands of other lawyers but has one giant appeal for Trump. He wrote an opinion years ago that sitting presidents cannot be indicted for criminal behaviour while in office and are empowered to pardon themselves. Ace up the sleeve stuff as any prosecutions are likely, almost certain, to find their way eventually up the chain to the supreme court.

Kavanagh would tilt the balance of the court to the right, thus hostile to many liberal causes such as abortion, and doubtless in Trump’s favour when such issues arrive.

Are my questions windy rhetoric?

Rhetoric is employed, and has been since ancient times as artful oratory by using various literary devices:  “How did this idiot get elected?” – A rhetorical question to convince others that the “idiot” does not deserve to be elected. The questioner does not expect an answer but raises the question to start a discussion on his terms. It can have a logical base,Trump is an idiot, was he elected by illegitimate means?

To answer we can say look at Russian interference for one, and paying off embarrassing accusers for two. Three four and five revolve around unlawful use of campaign funds, using the Trump charity as an all-purpose slush fund and so on and on. FBI revelations over Clinton’s e-mails investigation may not be down to Trump but still disturbed voters illegitimately.

I can justify my rhetoric out here in the windy fens.

Coils around his own neck

It had to happen that one of the flailing coils, tentacles if you like, has wrapped itself around the neck of POTUS. Choking himself he proclaims insistently I AM THE VICTIM, he is indeed, the victim of his own lies and lashings out.

He is the victim of his own appointees; as he sees it they are out to get him, Jeff Sessions his Attorney General, his personal lawyer Michael Cohen, Attorney McGahn et al.

Now the extraordinary revelations in the NYT today detail from a source within the WH that there are those around him plotting resistance to his wilder thrashings around and his basic amorality.

Can the man stay sane? Is he? Now he is ‘VOLCANIC’. How do you define unbalanced or demented? Who can diagnose with credibility? What next? How many more stupidly rhetorical questions am I going to think up?

Naming coils, like the seven deadly sins.

My other main preoccupation in which I am making my modest contribution to the general good of ‘saving the world’ is the importance of psychedelic mind-changing. Now the two threads come together because researchers in the present psychedelic renaissance find evidence, as well as intuit, that reported major peak mystical/visionary experiences – however caused – possibly religious epiphanies consequent to fervent prayer, result in behaviour changes. What changes?

Bear with me because here we hark back to antiquity and the earliest thinkers and philosophers (Well those of whom we have records) who debated the seven deadly sins. They are still with us, nomenclature may change but at root the bastards are still easily recognisable as pretty unchanged. Actually NOT pretty, rather ugly, let us have them in fair view as they have been for those who consider these matters for a few thousand years. Mankind is the same now as it was then, but watch out! These guys are always more visible to us in others than they are in ourselves.

The leader of the pack is PRIDE. In this context it means excessive self-absorption, egocentrism and what’s in it for me? It could have been designed for Trump, especially now he is also POTUS. When it behaves then a realistic and efficient ego is a helpful servant, and indispensable in daily life, but if it becomes dominating and gathers its henchmen around itself then at the core of our being we have a destructive and addiction-generating boss.

The henchmen trying to satisfy Pride’s self-centred focus are Envy, Anger, Laziness, Greed, Lust and Gluttony. The last includes drunkenness. Imagining these as if they are portraits or separate characters allows us to examine them as if they were objectively outside us, but actually they are our own inner traits. More easily detectable by the psychedelicised mind the work of integrating psychedelic experience means to rid ourselves of these self-centred demons, utilise access through the doors of perception and find our deeper transpersonal motivations superseding such selfishness. But Trump?

Sometimes he seems sent to us as an awful lesson, this is what becomes of us if we give way to focusing on money, power and prestige, UGH!

Coils around the Inaugration.

A new co-operating witness has been teased out of the woodwork and yesterday pleaded guilty to various charges and the evidence shown in court from Mueller’s investigation lawyers included laundering a $50,000 dollar illegal foreign donation for the inauguration of POTUS.

Sam Patten , who is now a co-operating witness and declared so in the Washington court – before the same lady judge trying former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort in a fortnight –  worked with him lobbying for the Russians in the Ukraine, (payment $42 million). That is where the money was funnelled from and passed through a ‘straw man’ an unnamed American to disguise its origins.

Patten pleaded guilty to operating as an agent for foreign principals without registering as a lobbyist with the US attorney general.

If he cooperates productively and truthfully to the Mueller investigation team’s satisfaction they will so advise the judge who may then reduce his sentence in a few month’s time, he is liable for up to five years.

Another unrelated tentacle unfurled today has a British connection via former MI6 agent Christopher Steele’s dossier. He furnished information to a Department of Justice official (Bruce Orr I believe) showing the Russian Government had Trump “over a barrel” with apparently compromising information which sounds like a successful ‘sting’ perpetrated some time ago in a Moscow hotel involving prostitutes.

Ancient coils

A high point in my life was a scholarship as an undergrad for a year at Uni in the USA. Most exciting, off the farm, off in a big flashy jet and over the Atlantic in the early seventies – all paid for. I say What Ho! Jeeves!

So while this Brit was over there President Nixon and cronies bugged Watergate and I got the bug of following the twists and turns, the lies and deceptions and ultimately the downfall of the most important government in the world. I was bitten and smitten, some perverted part of me enjoys with relish how the mighty become fallen. Well they don’t come bigger than POTUS in the blond and hirsute form of Tyrant Trump.

The latest tasty coil becoming a subject of chatter and speculation on the MSNBC news channel is whether the formerly right hand man of his, the now guilty disgraced lawyer Michael Cohen is how on tape with Trump he was tasked with trying to buy from David Pecker- the owner of the National Enquirer – the contents of his safe. These stories are now known as “the dirt”. They were unpublished as a favour to his friends, but now he has ‘flipped’ and is talking to prosecutors through a plea deal to escape or ease criminal indictment and possible jail.

Some of the most outlandish suggestions are that “the dirt” on Trump includes such allegations as

• More sexual affairs and peccadilloes
• Illegitimate children – a real shocker
• Abortions – fatal for his evangelical Christian base
• Potential Blackmail – of Trump and other celebrities

Many commentators no longer qualify remarks on his mendacity but just call him a liar, pure and simple.  Short term untruths are what he instantly turns to when cornered, and nationalistic populist white supremacism is the basis of his appeal after Obama the first black president.

“The dirt” in the safe is being seen as the equivalent of Nixon’s recordings in 1973, the tapes in the White House which finally did for him. Presently their whereabouts are unknown as the safe contents were removed during the presidential campaign – for safety reasons!
